John has over 25 years of Senior Management experience working within the financial and public sector. He has a Diploma in Management Studies and an MBA from De Montfort University.

For most of his career he has worked for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), a world leading accountancy body. During this time he has held senior management roles covering regulatory, government, professional standards and learning and professional development.

John has considerable strategic, business development, product development and financial management experience. During his career he has successfully developed and managed multi disciplined teams with an excellent track record for delivering and meeting financial and non-financial targets. He has been instrumental in developing corporate strategy, the innovation of financial learning qualifications (Corporate Finance, IFRS, Diploma in Charity Accounting) and services, driving business critical support systems from conception to implementation and managing and executing organisational change. John also lead the development of the ICAEW’s Practice Assurance Scheme designed to support and help firms (15,000) identify strengths and weaknesses as an aid to improving their operational efficiency and to help enhance the reputation of members and the title Chartered Accountant.

John has excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates great enthusiasm and commitment to drive and motivate others. His management style has always included developing and mentoring people to attain their true potential and which is why he enjoys working with Morton Connolly clients to help them achieve their goal.
