Harry's first career was with the Royal Navy where as a seaman officer he was the Commander of HMS FIFE and earlier had command of HMS SHETLAND. As an aviation sub specialist was the Senior Observer of 737 Naval Air Squadron (Advanced and Operational Flying Training), the Helicopter Warfare Instructor of 826 Naval Air Squadron and served with 814 Naval Air Squadron. His final appointment was at the Ministry of Defence as a staff officer to the Chief of Fleet Support.

On leaving, specialised in sales and marketing and following a period of promoting sales training and personal development conferences in the UK, became a founding partner of Speakers International Corporate Development Ltd (SICD), a Performance Coaching and Organisational Development company. Developed SICD into one of the leading professional services organisations in the UK, provided mindset change and attitudinal coaching for leading corporate clients such as Arcadia, BUPA, British Telecom, Ernst & Young, HSBC, Procter and Gamble and Walkers.
